My truck had some issues with the cooling system, exhaust manifolds, and I needed new front brakes. Two other highly respected shops in Drip (regularly recommended on social media) quoted prices that were significantly higher than what Malone quoted. Not only that, but the owner, Steve, actually talks to his customers and gives them options. He doesn't just toss parts that can be reused, and doesn't double count labor when fixing multiple issues that have overlap in labor (which is why their estimate was so much cheaper). I like doing business with honest people, and I won't use another shop in Drip after this experience.

March 20, 2026 In todayโ€™s world, if you are fortunate enough to find an auto mechanic who is competent, honest and trustworthy, you stick with them. And if they are a pleasure to do business with, you have hit the proverbial jackpot. That is why Malone Diesel has been taking care of my 95 Chevy 6.5 Dually since I purchased it in 1998. Dealing with Steve, himself, is an all-business, no-nonsense proposition. (He reminds me of a Drill Sargent I had at Fort Polk back in 1968.) If you insist on having a prolonged conversation with him, it will be while trying to keep up with him as he races around the shop making sure his team has what they need to complete the task at hand. But you will never feel that you are being ignored, or that your issues arenโ€™t important. Kathy and Christy make sure of that. They are wonderful people and have always treated me with respect and good humor. Thereโ€™s a reason Malone Diesel is always busy and has an impressive list of long-term, satisfied customers. They have my gratitude and my recommendation. S. Jay Seifert

I seriously regret ever taking my truck to Malone Diesel Mechanic. I brought it in for a tiny pinhole in the radiator from a rock โ€” a simple, basic repair. Instead, they overcharged me and handed it back with a check engine light on that was absolutely NOT there when I dropped it off. When I confronted them, they instantly tried to lie and say it was already on. No accountability, no honesty โ€” just excuses. I only used them because I didnโ€™t have a way to get my truck anywhere else at the time, and I genuinely wish I wouldโ€™ve had it towed somewhere competent instead. That would have saved me money and a massive headache. The staff was rude, dismissive, and acted like a bunch of grumpy old men with bad attitudes who clearly donโ€™t care about customers. Completely unprofessional from start to finish. If you care about your truck or your wallet, stay far away.

I canโ€™t say enough good things about this diesel mechanic. Honest, reliable, and extremely knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue quickly, explained everything clearly, and had my truck back up and running in no time. The pricing was fair, and there were no surprises. Itโ€™s hard to find someone you can truly trust with your equipment, but I definitely found that here. If you need diesel work done right the first time, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Iโ€™ve been going to Malone Diesel since 2005, back when I first brought in my 1995 F 250 for work. From day one, my impression of Steve was that heโ€™s a salt of the earth kind of guy โ€” honest, straightforward, and with the same love for the outdoors that I have. That first experience set the tone for every visit that followed. Over the years, Iโ€™ve taken just about everything with a diesel engine to Malone Diesel, My 1995 F 250, 2013 F250, 2016 F 250, My diesel generator and most recently, myself โ€” stranded on a trip with a breakdown. That last one really showed Steveโ€™s experience and character. I called him from the road, described what was happening, and he immediately diagnosed the issue over the phone. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to make a temporary fix and get back on my way. That kind of knowledge doesnโ€™t come from guesswork โ€” it comes from decades of hands on experience. After nearly 20 years of relying on Malone Diesel, I can say without hesitation that Steve is one of the most skilled and trustworthy diesel mechanics youโ€™ll find. If you want honest work, deep expertise, and someone who genuinely cares about getting you back on the road, this is the place to go.
